Welcome to the Christ Center at Transfiguration ELCA!

Welcome to The Christ Center Harlem! We are a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America that believes that the message of Christ should be seen and heard. We aim to fulfill that mission through grace-filled worship, activism/teaching, and progressivism.

What We Believe

We believe that God welcomes all--no matter who you are, who you love, what your skin color is, or how much money you have. Our church is Christocentric in its theological views and progressive in practice. We believe that social justice and the fight for equality is the Gospel of Christ, and we seek to make sure that Christ is not only heard in moments of morning worship, but also seen in the lives of our community.
